so I found some of my old videos and the ones that didn't involve me and my brother running around naked were all old skool cartoons.

For some reason I didn't really have disney cartoons growing up with the exception of aladdin (<3 * infinity) - I had the anime little mermaid where she dies at the end- the last unicorn, thumballina...ect ect

so like any normal, completely nerdy loser kid would do I sorted throgh them and started watching- well tonight I got to the swan princess and once I was done- again like any nerdy pathetic kid would do, I started googling to see what sort of fan art there was, or what voice actors were involved (mainly because Rothbart and Rogers are amazing nomatter what anyone says) and I discovered that there are two other movies...and that youtube had them ready and waiting for me....

now I want to smash my brains out with a rock. I don't mind the non-disney cartoon movies. They seem sort of akward...I can look at them now and properly articulate why thy seem off and how they could be improved had they had a better budget or writers or whatever. Don't repeat this, but in all honesty Dimitri is probably one of my top male heros of all time...(not that I'd admit this publicly because accepting something Avalos has worked on seems akin to accepting that Sean Connery is really retired) ....I forgot where I was going with that but the point I was trying to make is that those movies were GOOD. They weren't great- watching Anastasia isn't like watching Hercules or Lion King- it's not near perfection, but in their own right they're pretty amazing and they were a valuable part of my childhood- and I guess seeing them slaghtered like that with terrible terrible sequels killed some small part of me, (it's one thing to have disney sell out but when NEST entertainment and Richard Rich do it they've gone too far?) lol...I don't know what I was expecting...I guess it just sucks- it feels like every day the world gets noticably less special and I'm left wondering what my kids- or their kids will have.

I don't want to say goodbye to old friends like the street sharks, tmnt, the good power rangers and zordon, my little pony, smurfs, peter pan (pre return to never land), basil of bakerstreet, pre anorexic mary kate and ashley olsen, the kids from hocus pocus, and so many others who shaped me into the kid I am today.

I remember when me and Brittany were CONVINCED that Irvine Kinneas was made completely out of cardboard boxes and we didn't care!! Zidane blinking and breathing was REVOLUTIONARY!! Pretty soon it'll be hard to tell what's real and what's not and in the process we're losing all original thought- and all the good stories, all for the sake of the allmighty dollar.

I know there are more important things going on in the world, and it's probably all of that that's kept me from actually venting this out for the past few years but I guess today I just got tired of it. I'm not sure what I want to do to fix it, I just hope things change before my kids get around to caring what's on tv. Hannah Montanna isn't an adequate replacement for the things we had when I was a kid.
